PART ONE
I personally resonate with the Relational Leadership model because I am definitely a people person. I could never end up with a career that doesn't involve interacting with people. The relational model is all about emphasizing with people and giving them the power to complete tasks while maintaining order. I think this pertains to me and my life because I am a leader of listening. I like listening to other people's needs and trying to delegate depending on what would make everyone happy.
I love how the Relational Leadership model includes everyone and tries to build a close-knit network within a group of people. I personally have had the opportunity to practice this due to my senior year of high school. I was voted ASB Vice President and the first thing I wanted to make sure I was known for was not being a leader of orders. I wanted to be known for working with my peers to get tasks done and not be known for using my title to get special privileges or take all of the credit for Leadership's success. I also wanted to value the opinions of others and work with my classmates to produce the best events our school has ever seen. But, none of that would have been possible if I didn't form relationships with each of my Leadership classmates beforehand. I made sure to approach them, when the time permitted, and form a friendship so they would know that they could trust me.
I had some hesitations because I didn't want to form the type of friendship where my classmates could walk all over me. I had to make sure the respect was there so that my peers wouldn't take advantage of me. If you grow to give people too much power and say, then they might trump your position and disrespect you in more ways than one.
This is the Leadership class I was lucky enough to call my other family and learn many life lessons with. This is us decked out in our colors, Orange and Black, for Homecoming week!
PART TWO
I would have to say that Oprah directly relates to the Social Change Model because she used her power and wealth to enhance the lives of others. She is one of the few people I know that have not taken his or her fame and used it for selfish reasons or to get on the cover of some magazine to be well known for disgraceful things. Oprah is value based because she has supported the enhancement of education in other countries and is aiding the empowerment of women.
Oprah is a role model not only for women everywhere, but society as a whole. She is the change we all say we want to be. Sure she might have more money than the average human, but she has her eye on a goal and will spread awareness to reach that goal. Oprah has started the trend for giving back, and thanks to her, we can turn towards a more altruistic society.

Its interesting that out point out that you didn't want to be "walked all over" because of the friendships you made with the people you are leading. I think is definitely true there needs to be a balance.
